Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I best maintain my boots?
After use, remove any dirt with a damp cloth, especially from the area that comes into contact with your horse. Brush sand and dirt out of the zippers to prevent damage. Maintain the boots daily with a regular leather conditioner and use our luxury wax once or twice a week to properly nourish the leather. Let the wax work overnight and then rub in with a soft cloth or a special brush.

Don't let your boots dry out, but if they do, use our luxurious wax. Use sparingly: a little goes a long way to revitalize them.

The wax looks dark. Will this make my boot too dark?
Our wax has a creamy, thin texture. Once applied, it becomes much more transparent. Always use sparingly, as described above.

What do I use on brushed leather or patent leather?
For brushed or patent leather, we recommend our patent shoe spray, which can be found under "accessories" on our website.

What happens if my boots get wet?
Our boots are high-quality and can withstand a few knocks. Let them air dry – not near a heater! Once dry, you can re-condition them with our luxurious wax, making them look as good as new.

The color of my boots looks different than expected.
Leather is a natural material and can therefore vary in color and texture. Lighter colors, in particular, can exhibit natural imperfections, meaning no two boots are exactly alike. This is precisely what makes the color unique and beautiful! With proper care, your boots will develop a beautiful, natural patina.

Are my boots sinking?
Yes, on average, a boot will sag 1–2 cm due to the bending of the ankle. Dressage boots will sag less because the bending is less.

What if my boots don't fit properly?
It's possible a mistake has been made. Please send us photos or videos of what's wrong or doesn't fit. We offer a one-time free adjustment. However, you'll be responsible for the return shipping costs.

How long does it take for my boots to break in?
Many customers find that their boots fit perfectly from day one. However, due to the natural thickness of the leather, some boots may take a little longer to achieve a perfect fit. This depends on the model, usage, and the thickness of the leather. The best way to break them in is by actively riding in them, allowing the leather to quickly conform to your riding position.

How long will my boots last?
This depends on how often and how you use and care for them. Daily versus recreational use makes a big difference. Follow our care advice to maximize the lifespan of your boots.

How long is the warranty on my boots?
We offer a 90-day product warranty on material and manufacturing defects. In rare cases, the workshop will correct the error or produce new boots.
In addition, there is a 30-day fitting guarantee: if something is not right, please report this within 30 days of receipt.
Please note: there is no warranty on signs of use or poor maintenance.

Zippers: Do not use tools to close the zippers. Damage due to improper use is not covered by the warranty.
Calf size difference: It's normal for the calf to vary by up to 2 cm per leg. Therefore, measure carefully to avoid extra tension on a zipper.
Kneeling: Avoid kneeling in your boots; this puts extra strain on your ankle. First, unzip the boots to below your calf.

How do I care for the zippers?
During the first week, it's helpful to ask for help with zipping up the boots. The boots will then conform to your legs, making the zips easier to close. Always make sure the zip is fully open before putting the boots on, and remove any sand or dirt after use.

What if my boots don't fit due to an error by the studio or us?
In that case, we'll resolve it as quickly as possible. Where possible, we'll adjust or replace the boots, entirely at our expense.

Can I return my boots if I don't like them?
No, our boots are custom-made and handmade to your specifications. Custom-made boots cannot be returned.
